Newcastle United have agreed to purchase a 260-acre site at Woolsington Hall near Newcastle International Airport and intend to seek planning permission for a £190 million training facility that the club says will be world class.
The proposed development represents a major long-term infrastructure investment separate from Newcastle’s late transfer activity. Securing the site allows the club to move toward a planning application for a purpose-built training base near the city.
