Chelsea, Napoli and Benoit Badiashile

Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile is moving toward a season-long loan to Napoli in a deal worth up to €4m. The arrangement also contains a €27m purchase option as Chelsea continue reducing a crowded squad before the transfer window closes.
The move gives Napoli access to an experienced Premier League centre-back without committing immediately to a permanent transfer. Chelsea can remove another senior player from their squad while retaining the possibility of a substantial sale next summer if Napoli exercise the option.
