Arsenal have activated their option to sign Piero Hincapie permanently from Bayer Leverkusen after his one-year loan. The Ecuador defender made 39 appearances last season as Arsenal won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final.
The deal strengthens Mikel Arteta’s defensive core after Hincapie became an important rotation and big-game option. His left-footed profile, international experience and versatility give Arsenal cover across centre-back and full-back before another demanding league and European season.
