The NBA has cleared the Sacramento Kings and coach Doug Christie after investigating the late intentional foul against Golden State on April 7. The league concluded Christie made a mistake about the penalty situation, not an attempt to manipulate the result. The investigation found Christie wrongly believed the Warriors were not yet in the penalty and ordered the foul to stop the clock and preserve a timeout. The NBA said there was no intentional effort to hand Golden State free throws or to lose the game.
