Ben White was booed by sections of the Wembley crowd during his first England appearance in four years, but responded by scoring the opening goal against Uruguay. His return quickly became one of the night’s biggest talking points before the match ended in a late draw. White came on in the 69th minute and was jeered by some fans because of the controversy around his 2022 World Cup exit. He then scored from close range in the 81st minute, though England were later pegged back after he conceded a stoppage-time penalty.
