Pedro Porro said Tottenham’s squad supported Igor Tudor’s decision to replace Antonin Kinsky early against Atletico Madrid, insisting it was done to protect the goalkeeper. The defender framed the move as support for a team-mate rather than punishment after a disastrous opening. Kinsky was taken off after Tottenham fell 3-0 down inside 17 minutes, having made mistakes in the build-up to two goals. Speaking later, Porro said the dressing room understood Tudor’s thinking and that he personally told Kinsky football setbacks happen and recovery must start immediately.
