Pedro Porro said Tottenham’s squad supported Igor Tudor’s decision to replace Antonin Kinsky early against Atletico Madrid, insisting it was done to protect the goalkeeper. The defender framed the move as support for a team-mate rather than punishment after a disastrous opening. Kinsky was taken off after Tottenham fell 3-0 down inside 17 minutes, having made mistakes in the build-up to two goals. Speaking later, Porro said the dressing room understood Tudor’s thinking and that he personally told Kinsky football setbacks happen and recovery must start immediately.

Tottenham beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in London to keep their Champions League campaign on track, forcing a first half own goal from David Zima before second half penalties from Mohamed Kudus and Xavi Simons delivered a third straight home win in the group stage. Slavia’s aggressive man-to-man setup left huge spaces for Spurs’ attackers, with Romero flicking on a Porro corner for Zima’s own goal before Porro and Simons each drew late challenges in the box, allowing Kudus and the Dutchman to convert calmly from the spot.
