Barcelona full-back Hector Fort is close to joining West Ham on a season-long loan as the Catalan giants accelerate player exits. The 19-year-old missed training before the Levante match, with reports saying a deal could be finalized next week. Barca prioritized reducing their wage bill to register new signings. West Ham initially targeted Marc Casado, but Fort’s limited minutes under Hansi Flick made him available. Promoted last season as cover after Joao Cancelo’s exit, Fort mainly played back-up to Jules Kounde.
