CAF Strips Senegal of AFCON Title and Awards Morocco a 3-0 Final Victory

CAF officially overturned Senegal’s AFCON final win and awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory by forfeit, stripping Senegal of the title. The ruling followed Senegal’s walk-off protest during the final, which the Appeal Board found breached tournament regulations. CAF’s official statement said the Appeal Board upheld Morocco’s protest, set aside the previous disciplinary decision, and applied Articles 82 and 84 to declare Senegal losers by default. Reuters reported Senegal plan to challenge the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
