Harry Kane was named on the bench for a second straight match as Bayern Munich continued to manage his recovery from a calf injury. Vincent Kompany again kept faith with his in-form alternative, signalling a cautious approach over Bayern’s key striker. Kane had already missed out on a start in midweek and was again held back as Bayern dealt with multiple absences across the squad. Injuries to Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito also forced Kompany into wider changes for the trip.
