Wrexham, Preston North End and Ben Whiteman

Wrexham have completed the signing of Preston captain Ben Whiteman on a three-year contract with an additional-year option. The 30-year-old midfielder joins for an undisclosed fee after making 200 Championship appearances and featuring 43 times last season.
Whiteman becomes Wrexham’s second summer recruit as the club targets promotion to the Premier League. Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom said the midfielder forced his departure by informing club officials that he had played his final match for them.
