Tottenham have signed Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig for €60m ($70m), with the 22-year-old agreeing a long-term deal. He will wear the No. 7 shirt vacated by Son Heung-Min and joins after scoring 22 goals and 24 assists in Germany.
The Netherlands international, a product of Barcelona and PSG’s academies, was convinced by manager Thomas Frank after holding talks in London. Spurs fended off Chelsea’s interest and landed a marquee playmaker, strengthening their squad after several failed pursuits earlier in the window.
