Erik ten Hag is close to returning to management with Bayer Leverkusen after holding positive talks with the Bundesliga club. The Dutchman has been without a club since leaving Manchester United in November and prefers Leverkusen over a return to Ajax.
Leverkusen are seeking a new head coach following Xabi Alonso’s agreement to take over at Real Madrid, replacing Carlo Ancelotti, who is set to lead Brazil. Both parties are optimistic a deal can be finalised soon.
