Marten de Roon, Roma and Atalanta

Roma are signing Marten de Roon from Atalanta on a free transfer, with the midfielder having agreed a one-year contract worth €2 million net. The agreement also contains bonuses worth up to €600,000, including one linked to winning Serie A.
The 35-year-old becomes available to Gian Piero Gasperini immediately after ending a lengthy Atalanta spell. De Roon made 445 appearances for the Bergamo club, scoring 23 goals and supplying 32 assists, and was part of their 2024 Europa League triumph.
