Newcastle have reached an agreement in principle to sign Germany defender Malick Thiaw for around £35m, with a medical expected on Sunday.
The breakthrough comes after Newcastle missed out on Dean Huijsen earlier this window. Final details are being completed before Thiaw travels for his medical.
