Rebeca Bernal, Manchester United and Washington Spirit

Manchester United have completed the signing of Mexico captain Rebeca Bernal from Washington Spirit on a contract through June 2029. The 29-year-old can operate in defence or midfield and becomes the first Mexican player to join the Women’s Super League.
Bernal arrives after 50 appearances with Washington Spirit, where she helped win the Challenge Cup, following a long spell with Monterrey. The 78-cap international joins United immediately before their Women’s Super League opener against London City Lionesses.
