Cody Gakpo, Liverpool and Manchester City

Liverpool have rejected Manchester City’s offer of £75 million plus £5 million in add-ons for Cody Gakpo, and the proposed move is now off. Gakpo had wanted the transfer after City opened talks over the Netherlands forward.
Liverpool were prepared to sell only if another attacker arrived beyond Bradley Barcola, but deals for Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr proved too expensive. All parties have now communicated that the transfer will not proceed before the deadline.
