Arsenal, Newcastle United and Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal have officially completed the £75m signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United. The Brazil midfielder has signed a four-year contract with an option for another season, ending a four-and-a-half-year spell in which he became Newcastle captain and talisman.
Guimaraes gives Mikel Arteta an experienced midfielder capable of operating as either a number six or number eight. The completed transfer ends one of the summer’s longest-running negotiations after Arsenal gradually overcame Newcastle’s reluctance to sell their captain.
