Shakhtar Donetsk, Chelsea and Ukrainian football supporters

Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk will play their Champions League home fixtures at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge this season, giving displaced supporters an opportunity to gather in London. Their first scheduled home fixture at the venue is against Greek side AEK Athens.
Shakhtar have been unable to play at their Donetsk stadium since the conflict forced them away in 2014. The club has subsequently hosted European games across several countries. Its London arrangement includes four Champions League home matches and community activities intended to reconnect Ukrainian supporters living abroad.
