Cavan Sullivan made his senior United States debut in a 4-1 friendly win over Peru, becoming the youngest USMNT starter since Freddy Adu in 2006. At 16 years and 362 days, Sullivan became the country’s fourth-youngest capped player.
Sullivan earned the call-up after producing seven goals and 12 assists in 26 MLS appearances for Philadelphia Union. Fellow teenagers Justin Ellis and Julian Hall supplied the goals as the United States began its post-World Cup international schedule with victory.
