Zamalek have announced plans to lodge an official complaint against the Egyptian Football Association’s referees committee following their 2-0 Cairo derby defeat to Al Ahly. The club alleges that several refereeing decisions unfairly influenced the outcome.
In a statement published on X, Zamalek claimed they were denied two penalties and criticised the officials’ handling of VAR incidents. The club accused the referees committee of favouritism and demanded accountability. These allegations represent Zamalek’s position and have not been established as proven misconduct.
