Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid and the Spanish football federation
14 October 2026
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has received a four-match suspension following his dismissal against Villarreal. The punishment rules the Brazil international out of the upcoming league match against Barcelona, as well as fixtures against Sevilla, Racing Santander and Valencia.
Vinicius was sent off after a video review showed him pulling Nathan Saliba’s hair before a disallowed goal. The federation imposed two matches for violent conduct and another two for protests to officials. The ban is a new disciplinary decision following his previously reported red card.
