Political parties in Spain and Portugal and Morocco’s 2030 World Cup bid

Political groups in Spain and Portugal have called for Morocco’s role in the joint 2030 World Cup to be reviewed following tensions at the Ceuta border. Portugal’s LIVRE party demanded exclusion, while Spain’s Sumar coalition submitted a non-binding parliamentary motion.
The Spanish proposal asks the government to contact FIFA, its national federation and Portugal for a special assessment of the hosting model. Neither initiative changes the tournament arrangement immediately, but both introduce coordinated political pressure around Morocco’s participation.
