Paris Saint-Germain ultras and French authorities

Paris Saint-Germain’s Collectif Ultras Paris launched legal action challenging a ministerial ban preventing PSG supporters from travelling to Marseille for Sunday’s Ligue 1 match. Authorities imposed the restriction because of the risk of violent clashes between the rival fan groups.
The supporters’ group asked its lawyer to seek an emergency procedure before France’s Council of State, arguing repeated travel bans have replaced dialogue for more than a decade. The Interior Ministry cited longstanding hostility and previous violence between the clubs’ supporters.
