RB Leipzig, Johan Bakayoko and Martin Demichelis
13 October 2026
RB Leipzig coach Martin Demichelis has confirmed that winger Johan Bakayoko missed three Bundesliga matches because of an internal disciplinary issue. The Belgium international has struggled for form since joining from PSV Eindhoven, adding pressure to his position within the squad.
Demichelis acknowledged that Bakayoko had made a mistake but declined to disclose details, saying the matter had been resolved. German reporting linked the disciplinary action to repeated lateness for club commitments. Bakayoko has since returned to normal training and remains available for selection.
