St Johnstone defeated Kilmarnock 4-3 in a dramatic Scottish Premiership opener that featured seven goals and two changes of lead. Kai Fotheringham struck the winner after the promoted side had fallen 3-2 behind during the second half.
Josh Fowler and Cheick Diabate scored earlier for St Johnstone before a Jason Holt own goal levelled the match. Manager Simo Valakari used three attacking substitutes after going behind, and the aggressive change helped produce the late comeback.
