Liverpool recovered from a goal behind to defeat nine-man Brentford 2-1 and climb to fifth in the Premier League. Florian Wirtz created nine chances from open play, the highest total by any player in a Premier League match over the past six seasons.
Brentford took the lead through Keane Lewis-Potter before Liverpool fought back with goals from Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak. The hosts were reduced to nine players, allowing Liverpool to dominate the second half. Wirtz helped create the equaliser and finished with 18 league chances created this season, joint highest in the competition. The result ended Liverpool’s 19-match winless away run after conceding first.
