Feyenoord defeated AZ Alkmaar 2-0 in the Eredivisie, ending AZ’s unbeaten league start. Goals from Nacho Ferri and Javi López secured the victory, while a controversial VAR decision denied AZ a first-half penalty.
Referee Danny Makkelie initially awarded a penalty following contact between goalkeeper Tjark Ernst and Mexx Meerdink, but overturned his decision after reviewing the incident. Feyenoord’s victory kept them clear of Ajax in the standings.
