Borussia Dortmund teenager Mathis Albert became the youngest United States men’s national team goalscorer of the modern era during a 4-2 friendly victory over Chile. Albert scored at 17 years and 131 days, surpassing Christian Pulisic’s previous record.

Albert converted the United States’ fourth goal in second-half stoppage time after redirecting a pass off the crossbar and over the line. Julian Hall also scored, becoming the youngest American to find the net in each of his first two senior appearances.
