Gyökeres has withdrawn from Sweden’s upcoming friendlies against Hungary and Algeria due to a minor injury, halting international action after a prolific season with Sporting where he scored 48 goals and won a domestic double.
The striker was assessed by medical staff at Sweden’s training base and left camp as a precaution. Though the injury isn’t serious, the decision allows recovery time ahead of a possible summer transfer amid rising interest.
