Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Vincent Kompany

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will miss the Champions League trip to Viking after experiencing discomfort in his foot. Head coach Vincent Kompany confirmed that 23-year-old Jonas Urbig will replace the veteran for his third start of the season.
Neuer reported the issue following Bayern’s 2-2 Bundesliga draw at Augsburg and was unable to train. Kompany described the decision as precautionary rather than confirming a serious injury. Urbig will start while Bayern monitor Neuer’s condition before subsequent fixtures.
