Despite Modric’s wish to retire in Madrid, the club is unlikely to offer the 39-year-old a new deal. He’s set to become a free agent this summer, with interest reportedly building from clubs in Qatar.
Modric has fallen out of the regular rotation, and with Real aiming to bring in a new midfielder, Diario AS reports that contract renewal talks may not take place at all. He remains hopeful but the exit appears imminent.
