    The timing is concerning because Brighton already expect Kaoru Mitoma, Carlos Baleba and Evan Ferguson to miss the opening weeks. Minteh had been positioned for an important attacking role, making any significant absence another blow before the Premier League starts.

    Trabzonspor are targeting 25,000 season subscriptions to cover the entire yearly expense before counting shirt sales. Doğan also denied claims of government financial support for the transfer and said the club had begun legal action against those spreading the allegations.

    The victory also made Algeria the first African nation to qualify for next year’s Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Ivory Coast remain alive through the playoff route after a match featuring two goalkeeping errors, a red card and a missed penalty.

    Al-Nassr have reportedly abandoned plans to sell Brazilian goalkeeper Bento Matheus after concerns over Nawaf Al-Aqidi and the lack of a strong local replacement. Bento had again been considered expendable during the summer transfer window.

    The club decided keeping Bento was safer than weakening a key position before a season containing domestic and continental commitments. It is the second time circumstances have prevented his departure after a proposed Genoa move also failed last winter.

    The breakthrough follows earlier negotiations that stalled over the structure of performance-related bonuses. Solomon is now expected to move across London and strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad as West Ham target an immediate return to the Premier League.

    South Africa Approves Pitso Mosimane National Team Return

    South Africa’s National Executive Committee has approved Pitso Mosimane as the next Bafana Bafana head coach following Hugo Broos’ departure. Football association president Danny Jordaan said only outstanding details remain before the appointment can be formally announced.

    Mosimane is set to return to the national-team role after building an extensive club coaching career with Sundowns, Al Ahly, Al Ahli and Al Wahda. The federation expects to complete the remaining formalities and announce him during the coming week.

    Fenerbahce Submit Major Bid For Feyenoord Striker Ueda

    Fenerbahce have submitted an offer worth more than €20m for Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda. The Japan international is open to moving to Istanbul after establishing himself as Feyenoord’s first-choice centre-forward and finishing last season as the club’s leading scorer.

    Feyenoord have not disclosed their asking price and no agreement has been reached. Fenerbahce are also pursuing Romelu Lukaku, but the report says that move is separate and does not reduce their interest in signing Ueda this summer.

    Saudi FA Election Leaves Only One Eligible List

    Saudi Arabia’s football federation election committee has ruled that only Badr bin Suleiman Al-Ruzaiza’s list satisfies all candidacy requirements. Seven lists originally entered the process, one withdrew, and five of the six remaining submissions were excluded after examination.

    The decision leaves Al-Ruzaiza effectively alone at this stage of the leadership race following Yasser Al-Misehal’s resignation after the World Cup. The exclusions dramatically narrow an election expected to determine who handles several major Saudi football projects.
