CF Montreal and Alexis Sanchez

CF Montreal have officially signed Chile legend Alexis Sanchez as a Designated Player. The 37-year-old joins after leaving Sevilla and has agreed a contract through May 2027, with Montreal holding an additional option for the 2027-28 campaign.

Sanchez ends an 18-year spell in European football that included Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter. Montreal hope Chile’s all-time leading scorer can immediately improve a side sitting near the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference.

Fenerbahce, Napoli and Romelu Lukaku

Fenerbahce and Napoli have reached an agreement for Romelu Lukaku in a deal worth an initial €6m plus bonuses. The Belgium striker has passed his medical and agreed personal terms reportedly worth €10m per season in Turkey.

The club-to-club agreement materially advances a move that previously stood only at personal terms and negotiations. Final documents still need to be completed, but the transfer is now positioned for formal completion after Napoli accepted Fenerbahce’s improved proposal.

Fulham, Southampton and Shea Charles

Fulham have officially signed Northern Ireland midfielder Shea Charles from Southampton in a deal worth up to £30m. The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract and becomes the most expensive Northern Irish footballer, surpassing Jamal Lewis’ previous £15m record.

Fulham will pay £26m upfront with another £4m in add-ons. Charles chose the London club over Leeds and arrives to replace Sasa Lukic, giving new manager Alvaro Arbeloa another central midfield option before the Premier League season.

Sevilla, IK Sirius and Robbie Ure

Sevilla have completed the signing of Scottish striker Robbie Ure from Swedish leaders IK Sirius for an initial £5.5m. The 22-year-old passed his medical and signed a five-year contract after scoring 20 goals in 20 matches this season.

Sevilla will pay €6.5m upfront with another €2.5m available through add-ons. Ure leaves Sirius after a major breakthrough in Sweden and becomes only the third Scottish-born player to represent Sevilla in official competition.

Chelsea, Strasbourg and Filip Jorgensen

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has completed a season-long loan move to Strasbourg after asking to leave for more regular first-team football. The Denmark international had been allowed to leave Chelsea’s preseason tour early while searching for another club.

Chelsea are proceeding with Robert Sanchez, Mike Penders and Teddy Sharman-Lowe as their senior goalkeeping group. Jorgensen’s temporary move gives him a clearer route to regular minutes while Chelsea retain control of his longer-term future.

Chelsea, LA Galaxy and Vicente Garcia

Chelsea have an agreement with LA Galaxy to sign 16-year-old midfielder Vicente Garcia for an initial $3m. The highly rated prospect cannot complete the international move immediately and is scheduled to join Chelsea when he turns 18.

The agreement continues Chelsea’s strategy of securing emerging talent well before first-team readiness. Garcia will remain outside Chelsea until eligible for the switch, giving LA Galaxy development time while the Premier League club locks in his future rights.
