Celtic and Rangers have presented appeals against orders requiring their next home Scottish Cup matches to be played behind closed doors. Both clubs are also challenging £100,000 fines imposed after crowd disorder following last season’s Old Firm cup quarter-final.

Supporters from both clubs entered the pitch at Ibrox following Celtic’s penalty-shootout victory, with fireworks and other objects thrown during confrontations. Police officers were injured, and 43 arrests had been recorded by late August. An independent review criticised failures in crowd control. The Scottish FA appellate tribunal heard the clubs’ cases on Monday and has yet to issue its decisions.

Why It Matters

The ruling will determine whether supporters can attend the clubs' next home Scottish Cup matches.
