FIFA has confirmed that the United States will host the inaugural Women’s Club World Cup from 5 to 30 January 2028. The competition will feature 19 clubs from around the world and take place every four years, creating a new global tournament for women’s club football.

Arsenal, Barcelona, Gotham FC, Club América, Corinthians, Naegohyang and Wuhan Jiangda are among the seven teams already qualified, with another 12 participants to be determined. FIFA selected the United States because of its infrastructure, experience hosting major tournaments and growing interest in women’s football. The Women’s Super League has previously raised concerns that the January scheduling could seriously disrupt domestic competitions.
