Ajax secured their first UEFA Conference League victory of the campaign with a 2-0 win over Atalanta at the Johan Cruyff ArenA. Substitutes Tolu Arokodare and Abdellah Ouazane scored after the Dutch side dominated long periods of the match but struggled to finish their chances.
Ajax created several opportunities during the first half, with Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi making important saves. Manager Míchel Sánchez introduced Arokodare in the second half, and the striker eventually broke the deadlock. Ouazane added a second goal to secure the result. The win followed Ajax’s earlier defeat against Hajduk Split and provided an important three points in the league phase.
