Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is doubtful for Wednesday’s Champions League meeting with Arsenal because of fluid buildup in his foot. Sporting director Max Eberl has also confirmed that midfielder Jamal Musiala is unlikely to recover from his thigh injury in time for the match.
Neuer missed Bayern’s 6-1 Bundesliga victory over RB Leipzig and has been restricted to individual indoor training. Eberl said the club would assess whether his foot improves sufficiently before Wednesday. Backup goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is prepared to continue deputising. Musiala is being gradually reintroduced to training after suffering a right-thigh muscle tear, but the Arsenal fixture is expected to come too soon.
