Wales Women, Albania and Norway
13 October 2026
Wales Women defeated Albania 3-0 in Llanelli to complete a 4-0 aggregate victory and reach the final round of their European World Cup qualifying play-off route. Rhian Wilkinson’s team will face Norway in December as they pursue a historic first Women’s World Cup appearance.
Mayzee Davies, Elise Hughes and Hannah Cain scored to secure progression after Wales’ narrow first-leg win. Norway, coached by former Wales manager Gemma Grainger, present a more difficult challenge. Even victory in December may leave Wales requiring an additional inter-confederation play-off.
