UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has pledged to publish details of his previous meetings with Manchester City’s ownership following criticism of his comments about the club’s financial-rules verdict. Opposition figures demanded transparency over his relationships with senior City officials.
Burnham said his most significant meeting occurred in 2021 while serving as Greater Manchester mayor. He maintained that economic investment discussions were separate from football regulatory matters. City’s appeal remains pending and no sanctions have yet been announced.
