Rayo Vallecano’s home fixture against Athletic Club was abandoned after supporters repeatedly threw objects onto the pitch in protest against club president Raúl Martín Presa. The match marked Rayo’s return to the Estadio de Vallecas following a prolonged closure.
The referee initially stopped play in the 13th minute after paper aeroplanes, balls and other objects landed on the field. Despite warnings and appeals from players, the disruption resumed. Officials abandoned the fixture following consultation with police, with no resumption date confirmed.
