Pascal Ferré and Ballon d’Or

Former France Football editor Pascal Ferré has revealed that an agent attempted to influence the Ballon d’Or voting process. Ferré said the representative asked whether he could promote a nominated player’s candidacy to the jury.
Ferré recalled discovering an envelope left behind after the agent departed their meeting. He said he handed it to reception without examining its contents and did not identify the agent, player or year involved. No successful manipulation was established.
