Spain won the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup by beating defending champions North Korea 4-3 on penalties in Lodz. The final remained goalless through extra time before goalkeeper Laia Lopez made two saves in the shootout.
The victory gave Spain their second Under-20 Women’s World Cup title after their 2022 triumph and denied North Korea consecutive championships. North Korea finished the tournament without conceding a goal in regular or extra time.
