Further medical examinations on Sunday found Nawaf Al-Aqidi has a slight tear around the injured elbow and hand joint area, with the Saudi Arabia goalkeeper expected to require about five weeks of treatment and rehabilitation.
Al-Aqidi was injured while attempting to clear a cross against Kuwait and left Saudi Arabia’s camp after initial tests confirmed a right-elbow problem. Medical staffs from the national team and Al-Nassr are coordinating the next stage of his rehabilitation.
