Aston Villa earned their first Premier League win of the season by beating Tottenham 3-2 in north London. Johan Manzambi, Nicolas Jackson and Emi Buendia scored for Villa, while Spurs slipped to their worst five-game Premier League start.
Tottenham missed early chances and conceded while captain Micky van de Ven was receiving treatment, then allowed Jackson to double Villa’s lead. Spurs scored twice in a late fightback, but Roberto De Zerbi criticised the defensive mistakes that left them beaten.
