Brighton beat defending champions Arsenal 3-0 at the Amex, ending the Gunners’ unbeaten Premier League start and climbing to third. Pascal Gross, Charalampos Kostoulas and Chema Andres scored as Arsenal suffered their heaviest league defeat as reigning champions since 1989.
Brighton dominated the physical contests and led 2-0 by half-time before Andres headed the third after the break. Mikel Arteta said Arsenal were second-best in basic duels and made repeated technical errors, while Brighton could have scored more.
