Arsenal beat Sunderland 2-0 to preserve a perfect start to their Premier League title defence and record a ninth successive league victory, their longest run since the Invincibles season. Bruno Guimaraes scored first after David Raya saved Enzo Le Fee’s penalty.
Raya tipped Le Fee’s spot kick onto the post before Guimaraes struck from distance 121 seconds later. Bukayo Saka converted a stoppage-time penalty after Reinildo Mandava was sent off, sealing another clean sheet and maintaining Arsenal’s flawless league record.
