UEFA is set to withdraw its threat to boycott FIFA competitions after receiving assurances the Fifa Forward Enterprise plan will not return. However, European officials still intend to find a unity candidate to challenge Gianni Infantino in March.

UEFA has abandoned a no-confidence vote because the required 159 votes are considered unrealistic, but believes the presidential election could be close. Italy also withdrew support for Infantino, while nominations for challengers must be submitted by 18 November.
