Barcelona have officially completed the signing of Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City. The deal contains a €60m initial fee and up to €16.5m in add-ons, with the 30-year-old midfielder signing a four-year contract with the Spanish champions.
The completion converts Sunday’s agreement in principle into a confirmed transfer after Barcelona beat competing interest from Real Madrid. Rodri leaves City after seven seasons and 12 major trophies, giving Barcelona an experienced holding midfielder and World Cup-winning leader.
