Micky van de Ven is close to agreeing a new five-year Tottenham contract after previously considering his future in north London. The Netherlands defender’s existing agreement runs until 2029, but the club is moving to secure him on improved terms.
Roberto de Zerbi’s appointment and Tottenham’s increased ambition convinced Van de Ven to pursue an extension. The defender believes the new manager’s attacking approach can stabilise a club that narrowly avoided relegation in consecutive Premier League seasons.
